This program is new to the Cannes Film Festival because it will be a Global Hub for immersive creations of artificial intelligence. The selected work from this competition will be accessible to Festival De Cannes and Marché du Film which will be exhibited from May 15 to May 24. All the works will be displayed in a 1300 m² exhibition space in the Cannes cinema complex. The Names of the complexes are Cannes La Bocca and Georges Méliès Campus. This university is dedicated to creative writing and filmmaking.

This new competition of the 77th edition of Festival De Cannes will feature eight works that use virtual reality. The Festival said that this new program “transcend conventional storytelling and transport audiences to other worlds, narratives, and eras”. Cannes will feature a curated selection of noncompetitive immersive works.
